One by one, everyone in line went up and took the test publicly. Those that were selected for StarRock Academy were asked to remain on stage, while those that weren't dejectedly walked off stage. Those that had good potential, but not high enough to qualify for StarRock were immediately recruited by the various trade guilds, the army or other mercenary groups, depending on their elemental type and potential.
Suddenly a chariot pulled by red haired horses appeared and stopped right in front of the stage, forcing those in line to move aside. A proud looking youth dressed in bright red stepped out of the chariot and walked straight to the pillar. The youth that was next, and was pushed aside yelled "Who the hell are you. Line up like the rest".
The youth in red looked at him and replied "I am Heracle Hotblood, remember the name", and he shot a fireball at the youth. The youth burst in flame as Heracle laughed and approached the pillar.
The crowd started whispering among themselves "Thats the heir to the Hotblood tribe, a tribe that is related to the Ignis Incendium Sect. They say he's a genius, already able to control and use flames like a fully fledged wizard at such a young age".
The youth that was aflame was helped by several people around him, and was rolling on the ground to put out the flames. No one dared to say anything against Heracle.
While watching Heracle shoot the fireball, something tickled the back of his mind. As if he was reading a book, he had a glimpse of understanding about fire.
Heracle touched the pillar, and immediately the pillar shone bright red, proving a very high affinity to fire. As he turned around, an old man in flaming clothes appeared from the air. "Ignis Incendium would like to extend you and invitation. Will you accept?". Heracle laughed loudly and nodded, giving the recruiters from the StarRock Academy a sneer. He then turned and walked to the side with the man in flaming clothes, and as he did so he noticed Kyra.
Heracle pointed at Kyra and said "You, come with me. You can be my woman". Kyra looked at him with an icy glare and moved behind Cyril. Heracle laughed, "You think that weak wimp is going to protect you? " As he said that, he lifted his hand and it started flaring. But the man from Ignis Incendium stood in the way and whispered something in Heracle's ear. Heracle sneered and lowered his hand. "You'll live, for now", he said as he turned around and walked off stage.
Cyril, who was already prepared to retaliate, simply shrugged and rejoined the line behind Kyra. She looked at Cyril, and thanked him while giving him a peck on the cheek. As the line slowly moved on, Cyril thought to himself, "What a curious feeling. Each time he used his flame, its as if I could decipher what he was doing"
After a while, it was Kyra's turn to go on stage. The crowd was silent watching this angelic beauty walk on stage. She announced her name "Kyra Silkweaver, 16 years old" and approached the pillar. She gently placed her hand on the pillar, and immediately the pillar lit up. Blue AND Green! Water and Air! She had the potential to weave two different elements! And not only that, the pillar lit up intensely. This level of talent comes once in a lifetime. Someone with such high potential to be able to weave two different elements, the whole crowd was stunned in awe of her.
The old man on stage stood in shock before coming to his senses and telling her to join the rest that was selected for StarRock Academy.
As she walked over to them, two beautiful women floated down from the sky. One had a skin colour of white porcelain, she looked like a fairy, while the other was ethereal, she hardly seemed real. Both were unbelievably beautiful, like something out of a fairy tale.
The lady from Aura Aetherism the water weaver sect introduced herself as Anita Airwalker, while the lady from Aqua Aequoris, the water weaver sect introduced herself as Irina Icecaster. They both approached Kyra, and invited her to join their sect.
However, she replied that she could not choose between them, and preferred StarRock Academy as she would be able to learn both. In her heart, she wanted to be with Cyril. Both of them had dreamed since they were younger to join StarRock.
The two representatives looked at each other and nodded. They replied that she can choose to learn at StarRock, but she had an open invitation to visit both Aqua Aerueris and Aura Aetheris to train for a few years if she desires. Both of the knew such a talent cannot be let go so easily, and were willing to compromise to try and recruit her to their sect for the future.
Finally, it was Cyril's turn....
